Hi Laney,

The BBC gave me a transcript of this programme to use as I wish.

Done.

I requested (on behalf of my company) that I be permitted to use quotes/audio snippets and even provide a full copy for long-term availability.

I also requested if they could release this programme under a CC license.

Of course, if more than one interested party makes the request, it might hold more weight...

It will be interesting to get their response.

Ask them to CC-license it and release an MP3? I like it!

Yeah, thanks for the post - I enjoyed listening to it last night.

I recall a previous "In Business" from probably a year or more ago where there were some great quotes. I emailed the producer (via the Beeb's website) and asked for permission to quote and use snippets in our own materials.

Although I never actually got round to doing so, there were positive in their response and said fine go ahead.

Seeing as there was a fair discussion on CC I would assume they would rather shoot themselves in the foot if they wouldn't allow the podcast to be propogated/quoted etc.

In fact I will ask. It is a great introduction to FOSS for the non-technical minded.

I think I remember hearing that radio content is open to all on iPlayer, it's just TV that is locked down to us lucky few.

Heard it too! Made me wish I could post it to the Planet, but guessed someone would do so fairly quickly. Good on you for getting there first. Fairly good feature, and an all too rare covering of our world on Auntie. Maybe someone will rip it to share with the non-UK??
